Turtle Tour Natural Refugee

Explore the Secret Life of Sea Turtles in their Natural Refuge

Tamarindo – Playa Minas: this is one of the most important nesting sites in Costa Rica. A high number of turtles come to this place from October to March. Escape from the usual and come and live this incredible sea turtle experience. There is the opportunity to see up to three different types of baby turtles. This is one of the most intimate nature experiences one can have. During the tour, professional guides will provide useful information and detailed explanations of each procedure that the turtles tend to perform. They will also provide you with infrared light so that you can clearly appreciate the turtles and take your own photographs. Sometimes, to get to the nesting site, you will have to wait and take a walk to a nearby beach, where the stars, the moon, and the soothing sound of the ocean provide the perfect setting for a turtle sighting.

Pacific green turtles travel up to 2,000 km to nest in Las Baulas Marine Park, one of the most important sites for their nesting. Surprisingly, they always return to the same beaches where they were born, a phenomenon known as “natal imprinting”.
